Running FAq

  • Your consultation and first run are 100% FREE OF CHARGE. After scheduling your first appointment our founder, Florio, will meet you at your home. We will meet the dog(s), asses their needs, and your goals. We will then take your pup on his first run, starting off slowly and building up distance and speed to assess their capabilities.

Free consultation only applies to RUN services. First time HIKES and WALKS are charged at standard rates found HERE

  • Walk, run and hike time slots do not include time to pickup and drop-off. This means that a “60 minute” time slot includes 60 full minutes of active movement.

  • We are open 365 days a year. We service the Bend, OR area. We can run your dog any day, at any time, in any weather (barring lightning). A $30 up-charge is applied for holiday and night runs. Prior to arrival at your home we use the alltrails app to find a local trail that will be a good fit for your dog’s needs. With regular clients we will return to the same trail each run, helping to create routine and stability in your dog’s life.

  • All dog’s have individual needs. For example, we will not run short-nose breeds, but are happy to take them for a walk. We wouldn’t want to run a husky or malamute in the heat of summer. This is what our initial free consult is for, to discuss the needs of your dog and the goals of the owner. We love to watch pups get healthy! and would love to help an overweight dog get on a diet and exercise plan to get them back in shape!

  • A dog, much like a human, experiences numerous health benefits from endurance/high intensity cardio vs light exercise (walking). The most important of which is the correlation between being fit/active, and longevity. A healthy diet and regular exercise are the number one tasks you can perform as an owner to extend the life of your dog. Routine and exercise are also incredibly important for your dog’s mental health. Regular exercise can help reduce instances of bad behavior in the home. description

  • We offer 3 services, walking, running and hiking. For a full list of services and pricing click HERE. We are also happy to provide dietary and training advice free of charge during pickup or drop-off. We do not offer boarding or grooming services.

  • We recommend 2-3 runs per week on a regularly scheduled day and time. Both for the dog’s health and your runners ability to create a bond and routine in the dog’s life. We are also happy to run less or more frequently with your pup!

  • We begin the day by greeting your dog with love and a small treat (ensuring the dog has no allergies first). We then try to make the transportation experience fun and exciting. When under our care we try to let the dog be as free as possible in their expressions of joy, so barking and signs of excitement are not discouraged (unless the owner requests a calmer experience.) We find that allowing the dog to be fully free in their expression of excitement creates a healthy mental release from the day to day of listening to constant humans commands to come/sit/stay/leave it/etc. After arriving at the trail head we finalize our gear up and head off on a run. We ease into the run allowing everyone to get warmed up and pick up pace according to your dog’s needs. Depending on weather condition we will stop for a water break every 10-30 minutes. After the run we give your dog a quick towel dry/clean and bring him back home to you happy and tired.
